Zsuzsa Mecseri-McNamara has served as the Coordinator for the Set Free Movement in the Free Methodist Church of Hungary (as well as co-Pastor of the Budapest Free Methodist Church.) After serving for one year she recently reported on her year of ministry:
Next
month will mark my first year as the coordinator of the Set
Free Movement in Hungary. This is very exciting and it gave me
the opportunity to reflect. I am so thankful for all of you
that have been apart of this journey and have encouraged me,
prayed for me. Please continue to pray, God is doing great
things. I attached a document which gives a summary of this
past year, I hope it will be an encouragement to all of you as
you have all helped me in so many ways. I am excited for what
God has in store for the second year and hopefully more to
come. 😃
Blessings to all of you:
Zsuzsi
Monthly interdenominational prayer group
On a monthly basis, an interdenominational prayer event is held at the
Budapest Free Methodist Church. Where together with leaders working in the anti-trafficking
work, we pray for the victims of human trafficking, the perpetrators and the
vulnerable.
Regular
preventive programs at the Salvation Army Lighthouse: safe home for mothers and
children
I regularly hold programs at the Lighthouse for both the children and the
moms. The programs are aimed
at prevention, mediating Christian values, as well as raising awareness to the problem of human trafficking.
Helping at the
children’s home camp in Győr
The camp is held every
year in the children’s home.
The purpose of the camp is showing
God’s love to the children and prevention. I could help with different
tasks including translation and crafts.
Set Free training in Bulgaria
The Set Free training was held in Bulgaria in September. During the
training it was possible to
coordinate with the other leaders, think together and pray. We also celebrated
the opening of the Saint John’s home for girls. Praise God that Set
Free works in Harmony within two of JFM Ministry Partnerships in Bulgaria and
Hungary!
Human trafficking today (conference of Palánta Ministry): my presentation: “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
I
was invited as a speaker to the conference of Palánta Ministry. Several
different Christian organization, teachers and social workers participated. My topic was on prevention in the fight
against human trafficking.
3. Prison
ministry: Pálhalma women’s prison
On the 14th of
December, we served in the Pálhalma Women's Prison. We held a Christmas worship
service for the ladies. We proclaimed God’s unconditional love, we sang and
prayed together.
This is not the all inclusive list of what God has accomplished in Set Free Hungary for one year, as Zsuzsa was effective in serving in other areas, but these are the areas that include JFM's ministry partnership with Set Free Hungary.
